HOYAB HISTORY

The Homabay Youths in Agribusiness (HOYAB) is a transformative organization committed to empowering the youth of Homa Bay County through agriculture and agribusiness. Its establishment was inspired by a growing need to address unemployment and promote sustainable agricultural practices among young people in the region. The brainchild of John Patel, then a student of Agriculture at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and serving as the National Secretary General of the Kenya Agricultural Students Association (KASA), HOYAB officially came into existence on March 13, 2024.

The Foundation of HOYAB
HOYAB's inception was guided by John Patel’s vision of making agriculture a cornerstone of youth empowerment in Homa Bay County. Patel, a seasoned leader with a passion for agriculture, recognized the untapped potential of youth in agribusiness and sought to create a platform that would not only provide opportunities for economic growth but also enhance food security in the region.
